Price Increases and Premium SVOD

Premium SVOD services have been under pressure to improve profitability and continue to deliver growth, and, in many cases, with smaller budgets than in years past. One tactic streamers have employed in service of profitability is increasing prices. Since the end of 2022, Antenna estimates the Average Price Paid per month for Premium SVOD is up +22.8% for ad-free plans and +24.5% for ad-supported plans.

In the past two years, every Premium SVOD service has raised prices on their ad-free subscription plans. Excluding promotions and other non-standard pricing, overall, Antenna estimates the Average Price Paid for ad-free subscriptions in 2024 increased 4.4% YoY from $13.29 to $13.88. And while ad-supported tiers generate additional revenue, the average price paid for these plans has also risen 15.7% YoY from $6.54 to $7.57.
